| The day will begin @ 7:30 in the
morning @ the Teresa Lindsay Center located @
429 E 42nd Place, Los Angeles
Midmorning break may be on your project
site around 10am or at the TLC
Lunch will be around 12:30 @ TLC
Afternoon snacks will be around 2pm
Policing and clean up should begin no
later than 3pm with the trucks completely loaded by 4pm
Project ends @ 4:30 pm
They are expected street closures due
to the Martin Luther King Day Parade and we will share that info with
you all as we receive it.
The work scope to date is:
360 E 42nd Place individual skilled
volunteers and possible USC volunteers
Front entrance wheelchair ramp
Bathroom modifications
Kitchen reorganization and cleaning
Front bedroom painting and window blind
replacement
Energy efficiency Team – Church of the
Messiah volunteers
Smoke detector installation and/or
replacement
Carbon monoxide detector installation
Compact florescent light bulb
replacement of existing incandescent light bulbs
Distribution of RT literature, home
safety check list cards
Curb, House number and street side
fence painting crew – USC volunteers
Clean curb wire brush and stencil house
numbers
Replace missing house numbers on street
façade of house if homeowner/renter agrees
Paint street side of fence with liquid
rustoleum (no spray paint cans)
Trash and large item disposal teams –
USC and ?
Assist any homeowner who asks for help
with transport of a large item to one of the 2 roll dumpsters located
on 42nd place for this project day
Take turns manning the roll off
dumpsters to ensure no hazardous waste is put in them
Make sure the dumpsters are evenly
loaded with heavy items on the bottom and nothing extends above the
top of the dumpster rim
Secure the dumpsters at the end of the
day
If you bring tools, please make sure
that they are in good working order and are visibly marked for your
return at the end of the day
· No short-shorts
· No tank tops
· No sandals, flip flops, open toed or
heelless shoes
· No IPODS or cell phone use during
working (you can’t hear me or anyone else, you are a safety risk)
· No tee shirt modifications (sleeve
remove, ripping of the sides etc
· Tee shirts MUST be worn the entire
project day. This identifies you as someone who should be there and
that

youth volunteers – without
Your completed waiver form you cannot
participate.
We will take the completed waiver form
from you and give you an
New RTGLA project tee shirt to wear.
Please change into the tee shirt ASAP.
